About
"Danuta Jarecka covers her canvases with narrow, exquisitely rendered streaks of color. The result is a shimmering surface alive with elusive depths. In these paintings, colors are textures, textures are colors; as you trace their subtleties you discover harmonies as beautiful as they are unexpected. Unconstrained by a pre-established pattern, Jarecka is free to improvise, and thus every painting feels fully realized on its own, distinctive terms. Because the scale of these works is variable, we could see them as enlargements of microscopic phenomena or as portals opening onto vast worlds, each endowed with a uniquely luminous atmosphere".
